Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my new ways of eating to live well.  Hope you have a nice stay!

Nutritional Ketosis Diet for Medical Conditions

Having eaten this way for about three years now I find Nutritional Ketosis (NK) works well to help manage my pain (happened in first 30 days), resolved many years of Irritable Bowel Syndrome after first 180 days, as well as my Metabolic Syndrome  and most lab results over time. With that being said I expect few will move to this way of eating without a strong desire to prevent and or reverse their premature death. While the results can sound like magic they are all based on science. While I can talk about NK endlessly let us jump into what others state on the subject by looking at a review of 12 different disease states that NK may help manage.

Keep in mind is one is under a doctor's care and taking Rx meds changing your way of eating can change your needs for Rx meds so keep your healthcare professionals in the loop when change one's eating lifestyle.

The Ketogenic Diet (KD) as a Treatment Paradigm for Diverse Neurological Disorders. Just read the bold orange headings on the first read. While this is a science paper that I did not get one the first or second reading I want to at least grasp the medical possibilities of the KD Way Of Eating (WOE). Low tech links will follow.

Conditions Shown to Benefit From a Ketogenic Diet below is a more simple article from a newsletter that is much less technical.

New Study Validates Ketogenic Diet for Epilepsy Treatment in Adults article below may be of interest to some but is a good read to gain a general understanding and history of NK.

While there is much more to read and study about using Nutritional Ketosis to improve and or recover from different health related issues this is a starting point. Post questions and comments below and we can then discuss them.
